Primary School

In the Primary school children between 6 to 11 years are enrolled. The Primary school stretches over five years. It is organised  in  long term learning cycles in order to maintain a continuity in the learning process and to avoid penalising weak students.
The general aim of the Primary school is to ensure that the students acquire the fundamental tools of learning: reading, writing, maths.

 

The Teaching of Tamil and English
In deference to the local context Tamil and English are taught 3 hours a week  in the 2nd cycle and 4 hours a week in the 3rd cycle.
Follow up of students
This is done by the teams in charge of these learning cycles . The process of assessment is continuous. In the report card the skills acquired by the students and the progress made by them are noted and given to the parents every three months. Students have to sit in for exams in the beginning of the 3rd cycle  and in the beginning of the 6th standard
