Lycée français de Pondichéry

The “Lycée Français” of Pondicherry comes under the purview of (AEFE) l’Agence pour l’Enseignement Français l’Étranger (Agency of French Education Abroad).

The “Lycée Français of Pondicherry”, the oldest French school in Asia offers a comprehensive education from Pre-Primary school to the final year of Secondary school with general, technical and professional options All the subjects are taught in French and a great deal of importance is placed on English and Tamil, the regional language . The courses held at the “French Lycée” are strictly conform to the current academic program set by the French Ministry Of Education.

A regular turnover of students who successfully pass the exams have the choice of continuing their studies either in France or in India.

The mission of “AEFE” is :

To ensure that children of French nationality living abroad can avail of the objectives fixed by the board of education.
To contribute to the strengthening of ties of collaboration between the French and Foreign education systems for the benefit of French students abroad.
To contribute to the enhancement of the French language by welcoming foreign students.
To give scholarships to children of French nationality studying in French schools and establishments abroad which are dependent on AEFE and where French education is imparted .
