Maya's presentation: Queen Elizabeth I
Queen Elizabeth I was born on September 7th, 1533 at Greenwich and died on March 24th, 1603 at Richmond.

She was the most famous queen of the United Kingdom. Her advocates sometimes called her “Glorianna” or “Good Queen Bess”. She reigned from November 7th, 1558 until her death in 1603. She spoke English, Latin, Greek but also French and Italian. She was the fifth and the last representative of the Tudor Dynasty.
After the death of Henry VIII on January 28th, 1547 she was the third on the order of succession to the Crown. The deaths of her half-brother Edward VI in 1553 and of her half-sister Marie I in 1558 enabled her access to the Crown. Her long reign of 44 years defines the Elizabethan period which raised England among the great powers.
